Texas Roadhouse sued after claims of age discrimination
Texas Roadhouse restaurants have been sued after there were claims made that they discriminated against applicants based on age.
Complaints made to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has lead to a lawsuit against the restaurant. The details of the lawsuit state that the issue has occurred at restaurants nationwide.
Applicants who applied for the job as a waitress or bartender were told that they needed to be “young and hot” and some were told that they were “too old” for the position.
The EEOC has stated that only 1.9 percent of the employees that work in the front of the restaurant are over the age of 40.
