OSHA files lawsuit against Austin-based Whole Foods
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the Austin-based Whole Foods Marker in order to have a former employee reinstated after he was allegedly fired for voicing concerns on a sewer spill at a store in Miami.
According to the lawsuit, OSHA investigated the case and found that the company violated the whistleblower protection laws put in place by firing the man.
OSHA has asked that the federal court issue some type of order that will prevent Whole Foods from doing this in the future. Also, OSHA has asked that the employee be rehired and paid back payments and other damages.
