Pregnant Hispanic woman filed wrongful termination lawsuit
A Hispanic pregnant woman has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against her employer after claiming that she was fired so that non-Hispanic and non-pregnant women could have the job even if they were less qualified.
The woman stated that she was let go in May and replaced with less qualified workers, one of whom she hired in March. The lawsuit states that the defendant violated the Family and Medical Claims Act and the Civil Rights Act by discriminating against the woman for pregnancy, sex and national origin.
