Bass Pro Shop sued for discriminating against non-white applicants
Bass Pro Shop, an outdoor gear retailer, has been sued by federal regulators for discriminating against non-white job applicants.
According to a lawsuit that was filed in a federal court in Texas, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleges that Bass Pro Shop was discriminating against African American and Hispanic job applicants and retaliated against other employees when they said something about it.
The suit also states that they destroyed records that showed who they hired. Â The agency said that the only reason certain people were not hired was because they did not fit the Bass Pro Brand. The alleged discrimination occurred in Bass Pro Stores in Louisiana, Texas and Indiana.
