A recent study done at the Centre for Work and Life at the University of South Australia stated that when it comes to sexual harassment lawsuits, the person who has filed the lawsuit is more likely to leave the company before the alleged offender does.
The study found that 60 percent of lawsuit complainant’s will resign or quit their job compared to 10 percent of the accused perpetrators.
This may be because the person who files the lawsuit usually ends up facing most of the negative backlash. This fear of negative backlash is also why some formal complaints are never filed.
